Unforgettable celebration to mark 10th anniversary of crossbase

Böblingen 09/12/2011: On Saturday 8 October, crossbase was joined by some of its very first customers, employees and their families to celebrate the company's 10th anniversary. Even the weather was on our side, so there was nothing to spoil the outdoor events.

On Saturday afternoon there was archery at the Police Sports Club in Reutlingen and a trip down the river by punt in Tübingen - two totally new experiences for most of the 60 plus guests from near and far. For the sports competitions, there were separate groups for men, ladies, girls and boys. After the first few tries, the archery went very well indeed, with the arrows at least hitting the target! Some people were so good at it that it was hard to drag them away, while others relaxed with a coffee, beer or lemonade.

The punt trip on the Neckar was enormous fun, with the more athletic among us having a go at steering the boat - which raised a few laughs when the punt seemed to want to head in the wrong direction! But most were happy to simply sit back and enjoy the trip, watching the surroundings go by with sparkling wine, beer, lemonade and stories from the punter from Via Verde.

In the evening, everyone gathered in the "Festscheune", or party barn, at Drei Birkenhof farm in Rommelsbach. To the delight of the guests there was a photo album on display that told the story of the past 10 years like a film. Amid the autumnal decorations and candlelight, everyone tucked into a French meal and refuelled their energy for the quiz afterwards. The teams enthusiastically answered quiz questions about crossbase events as well as general questions about German-Austrian friendship. The quiz was accompanied by the clear, earthy sound of the band Blueskraft.

After this came the official ceremony to honour the best teams, crossbase's long-term customers, and employees. The children got their medals first, then the best teams in archery, punting and the quiz, followed by customers and one employee. For each of the seven winners there was a cup and a word of congratulations, which prompted resounding applause. Let's make this passion and enthusiasm continue for the next 10 years!
