Producing InDesign pages fully automatically - this is easy to achieve with the crossbase print tools. Thanks to the flexible layout kit, it is possible to produce not only structured print publications, but also creative, sophisticated decorative pages and editorial pages with database support.
No programming or scripting knowledge is required to operate the layout editor, so that layouters can quickly find their way around. Almost any layout can be created using the already configured layout rules. Functions such as area displacement and pagination control allow flexible layout templates to be created and reused for similarly structured pages.
crossbase supports all steps in print publishing. This includes changing language with language layers (language mutation) or with language documents (language variant), book functions for creating the entire document (with pagination, cross-references, type area control, number index, key word directory, price update) as well as preparation as a print-ready PDF file.
All dynamic tables of a publication are created in the table editor. Tables can contain features, but also product images, texts and prices. Placeholders in table cells are linked to database contents. The number of rows and columns can be variably increased or reduced during production, so that any number of structurally identical tables can be created with just one template. From simple standard tables to complex matrix tables, all requirements are covered.
With this module, manually created InDesign documents with the contained image files, tables, texts and all layout information are quickly and easily imported into the crossbase database. Subsequently, content can be translated with the translation workflow and a change of language can be produced fully automated.
This module automates all the steps involved in creating publications. From multilingual table and page creation to pagination and type area control. For an even more efficient execution, production with the option "print server" can run parallel and time-controlled on several computers.
This option assists in assessing production status and pagination. All pages are arranged by chapter and displayed as left and right pages in an overview. The break of page flow with single and double pages can be checked visually before the final print preparation is carried out.
Usually a whole team is involved in planning, producing and proofreading a print publication. This module is used to organize and optimize these processes. Employees can be notified to complete specific tasks on a specific date. The print publication status is clearly displayed throughout the process.
This module enables the distributed production of print products on several computers. Production clients report their availability to the crossbase print server, which distributes production jobs in parallel to the available clients. This can considerably shorten the production time of extensive publications.
This module checks whether produced page flows are suitable for the printing process with black-plate change. The system analyzes whether the color content of the documents or on the respective language levels is identical so that any deviations can be detected and corrected at an early stage.
The traffic light switching was developed for the requirements of layouters. Changes in data maintenance are reported and their effects on existing catalog pages are displayed in color. The layouter can view all changes in detail if required and recognizes at a glance which pages need to be checked and updated.
With this module, creative users easily take advantage of database-driven production. In connection with the API server, layouts with texts and images from the crossbase database can be designed completely freely with this plugin. Subsequently, the content can be automatically updated and language changes can be performed at any time.
With the web client, your own employees or external persons can individually adapt and personalize appropriately prepared InDesign templates. For example, images can be exchanged and texts can be changed or supplemented. Printable InDesign or PDF files are then automatically generated using the Adobe InDesign server.
This enables the mass creation of product data sheets via the crossbase print server with Adobe InDesign. This means that the full range of Adobe InDesign functions can be used to create the layout. The basis is an InDesign template, which contains the basic layout, and an XML control file, which establishes the connection to the database. The data sheets thus generated are stored as INDD and PDF documents in the database with the respective items. The documents are then automatically regenerated if the content of the items has changed.
This module allows to export all media files and texts of a catalog, including all InDesign files and print-relevant media files. Open documents can thus be made available for the print process and archived. The exported catalog is stored in a language-specific directory structure.
This module enables easy automated creation of publications with list layouts such as illustrated price lists. InDesign templates are linked to data sources in Excel format via predefined rules. The module can be used without database connection and can therefore also be easily used in national subsidiaries.
