Web application server

Cross-location data maintenance via web front end.

The web architecture is based on web and API servers. It enables users to maintain and translate product information and media assets. This is done regardless of location and according to the authorizations assigned to the respective user. In addition, characteristics, images, texts and relationships can be edited in tabular comparison. At a glance, users are able to see where data is missing, where it differs or where it has been inherited. There are extensive options for sorting, grouping, filtering and customizing the interface.

Product Information Maintenance (PIM)

Products are selected directly or via the task list. In the case of deviating or missing values, color-coded information is displayed. Columns can be shown and hidden in a user-defined way and the order can be adjusted. Since mandatory and optional fields can be defined on the basis of the customer-specific data model, the user is guided through the data maintenance process and thus provides high data quality.

Maintenance of Media Assets (MAM)

Images, documents and videos can be imported, converted and referenced. During the import process, defined meta data (e.g. version, language and category) is determined or defined and assigned. After the import, additional meta data such as image rights, keywords and textual descriptions can be added.

Maintenance of Output Structures

Structures, e.g. for the rejection into print and online channels, are displayed in the form of trees and lists. Using "Drag & Drop", these structures can be easily set up and enriched with media and text elements.

Workflow and DQM

Various functionalities provide assistance to workflow-supported editing. This includes the dashboard with calendar, the task list and the notification functions. Data quality management (DQM) with graphical progress display for product maintenance and translation check is also integrated. A maintenance wizard - based on the task list - enables the guided editing of missing mandatory fields.

Translation and correction

The translation and its correction can be order-based or for any selectable text. You can assign authorizations for this. Planning and control are carried out by the translation manager, who can also view the progress at any time. The WYSIWYG editor is integrated into the overview table so that the texts can be translated quickly and easily without additional dialogs. Translation is optimally supported by the display of layout contexts, Trados integration and the pressure-binding preview with the InDesign Server.

Maintenance of Catalog Assortments

Catalog ranges can be edited in a comparative way based on the range or the item. The user can only maintain catalog ranges for which he or she has the appropriate authorization. The simulation of output channels and the filtering of catalog ranges on the basis of product groups also ensure convenient editing.
