PUK and crossbase - automated media production for success
PUK uses the possibilities offered by crossbase to generate its product information with maximum automation and distribute it to all relevant channels.
With the crossbase software solution, all product information is maintained centrally in one place. This simplifies the production processes for the media to be created and ensures that the data source is always up-to-date.
PUK Group GmbH & Co KG is a globally active group of companies in the metalworking industry. It develops, produces and sells cable support systems, cable clamps, underfloor systems and substructures for photovoltaic systems and offers solutions for the industrial, building technology, infrastructure, energy and oil and gas sectors. PUK Group GmbH & Co KG has six production sites - two of which are in Germany - and 30 sales locations in 11 countries. Founded in 1969, the family-owned company is headquartered in Berlin.
A PIM, MAM and cross-media solution was implemented for PUK based on the crossbase standard software, the existing PIM system was replaced and the extensive databases migrated accordingly.
The articles are continuously imported with prices and basic data via the XML interface from proALPHA. In crossbase, the articles are classified in the product structure, and technical features and product relationships are also maintained. The inheritance concept is used here, as many properties, images and descriptive texts can already be defined on the product.
The integrated MAM is used to manage product photos, application images, dimensional drawings, symbols and graphics and the graphics converter automatically generates additional image formats for use on the Internet and in print.
Products are referenced in marketing-specific product views for the corresponding sales channels so that they can be used in the printed catalogs and online catalogs in a market-specific manner. For the online catalog, the data is provided directly with the API server and defined REST services ( JSON). The print media are generated automatically via crossbase and InDesign.
