PohlCon and crossbase:
Ongoing import of items
With the crossbase software solution, all product information is maintained centrally in one place. This simplifies the production processes for the media to be created and ensures that the data source is always up-to-date.
The companies PUK, JORDAHL and H-BAU Technik have bundled their sales activities under the umbrella of PohlCon, headquartered in Berlin, and have merged into a single company since January 2022. The products are used worldwide for applications in industrial halls, elevator shafts, ceilings, columns, tunnels and fire protection.
A PIM, MAM and cross-media solution with an interface to proALPHA was implemented for POHLCON based on the crossbase standard software.
The articles are continuously imported with logistical master data via a standard interface to the proALPHA ERP system. The newly imported items are classified in the product structure in crossbase. Technical characteristics, load-bearing capacities and product relationships (e.g. parts lists) are also maintained.
The numerous media elements include photos and graphics for products, applications and reference objects as well as icons, logos, drawings, installation views, system overviews, certificates, brochures and videos. These are managed by product or publication in the integrated MAM. The image conversion function integrated in crossbase automatically prepares images for print and the Internet.
The texts consist of product descriptions, benefit texts, long and short descriptions, tender texts, etc. They are entered as continuous text or generated from text modules and features, e.g. as list text. Metadata for search engine optimization can also be managed. The content is translated into several languages.
Marketing-specific product views and product ranges are maintained for the relevant sales channels so that products can be used in printed catalogs and online media.
The data for the online media (TYPO3) is provided using a REST API. Output classes and channel output management are used to control which content is output on which website or for internal purposes.
