An individual PIM and cross-media solution based on the standard crossbase software was implemented for ABB STRIEBEL & JOHN GmbH. The company already had a product database. This formed the basis for the data transfer to the PIM system.
The first step was to transfer the product data. This was then enriched with additional product information and files. In addition to images, additional texts and documents, product features were also added (commercial, identifying and approval-relevant features, dimensions and electrical parameters, etc.). Product relationships were also stored that can be taken into account during output (accessories, sales parts lists and system parts, etc.).
For further use in print and online media, it is necessary to map this information in various market- and media-specific product views. This includes various electronic catalog formats as well as printed catalogs and brochures, data sheets and online media.
The solution offers great benefits in the area of e-commerce through the output of electronic catalogs in BMEcat 2005 format and the ETIM classification for trading partners.
