GAEB interface to AUSSCHREIBEN.DE at KEMPER

Gebr. KEMPER GmbH has efficiently digitized its data maintenance for the AUSSCHREIBEN.DE platform using a GAEB interface. The crossbase.pim system has significantly reduced the manual effort and increased the quality of the tender texts - a further step in the digitalization of the construction industry.

Initial situation

KEMPER GmbH has been using crossbase.pim as a PIM, MAM and cross-media solution for several years. The company also uses the AUSSCHREIBEN.DE platform, where manufacturers from the construction industry can make tender texts available for download free of charge. This platform was previously maintained manually. In order to automate this important sales channel and make it more efficient, the solution was expanded to include a GAEB interface. This uses the electronic data exchange format GAEB-XML, which is widely used in the construction industry.

Procedure

The AUSSCHREIBEN.DE platform provides planners, architects and other partners in the construction industry with tender texts in formats such as GAEB XML, GAEB 90, PDF, DOC, RTF, text, DATANORM 5 and ÖNORM. Almost all well-known AVA and tradesman programs can process these formats.

KEMPER uses this platform to provide tender texts and product images. Text templates were created in the crossbase.pim system for this purpose, which enable multilingual generation of the structured texts. This reduces manual effort by over 90%, as the texts are assigned to the products using reusable modules. At the same time, the quality of the tender texts increases as they are structured in a uniform and consistent manner.

The flexible structures of crossbase make it possible to configure and provide various XML formats such as GAEB DA XML. The data for AUSSCHREIBEN.DE is exported using this standard format, supplemented by an AUSSCHREIBEN.DE-specific XML format to transfer additional information such as comments, attachments and links. The XML mapping function allows the content to be configured flexibly and individually.

Result

The complete digitization of the maintenance and provision of tender texts and product information has enabled KEMPER to provide planners and architects with current, high-quality data at all times. CAD/BIM data and other content is available without any additional effort on the part of the manufacturer. This leads to a smooth flow of information and more efficient processes.

The advantages of the solution

  • Over 90% less manual effort thanks to automated text templates
  • Automated provision of current data
  • Error minimization and improved quality
  • Standardized and consistent tender texts
  • Easier integration thanks to customizable XML mapping functions
  • Standardized formats and easily accessible product information
