HOPPE creates data sheets with crossbase and Word
With the introduction of the crossbase.office module, HOPPE employees can now use product-related information that was previously used for catalogs and websites for other purposes such as the creation of sales materials. This opens up the versatile use of multilingual, country-specific data sheets.

Initial situation
HOPPE manages over 35,000 items including master data, prices and marketing-relevant information centrally in the crossbase database. This data is used for online catalogs in various languages and countries as well as for fully automated printed catalogs. Now the use of this product information is to be extended to other areas, such as sales.
Procedure
Application: Products can be selected via a full-text search, entry of the item number or a guided search via the product hierarchy.
Layout technology: The data sheets are based on predefined Word templates that allow even sophisticated layout variants through page and table layouts.
Production technology: Data sheets are generated either ad hoc after product selection or en masse in a batch process. Parameters such as language and assortment are defined. The finished data sheets can be downloaded directly from the crossbase database or made available on the website.
Result
The multilingual data sheets contain all the essential information, including product names, technical data, photos, drawings, descriptions and symbol references for certificates or special product properties.
In addition, the printed catalog, which is over 1,000 pages long, is created automatically using crossbase and Adobe InDesign. The entire production process, from the smooth break of the table blocks to the print-ready PDF, takes just a few working days. Layout corrections are saved directly in the database and are available for future projects.
