As the leading provider of a fully integrated PIM, MAM, CMS and cross-media solution, crossbase mediasolution GmbH, established in 2001, provides industrial and trading companies in the German, Austrian, Swiss, Benelux and French markets with modular-designed standard software with individual characteristics for the targeted fulfilment of all requirements in the field of global company and product communication while also saving time and costs.

All of the software is developed centrally at our Böblingen office to ensure that we always deliver high-quality innovative solutions.

We develop a solution for each customer that is individually tailored to the requirements and processes. Many functions in our standard software can be configured flexibly and already make provisions for a multitude of individual adjustments. Furthermore we also develop additional individual release-ready software adjustments, which - according to a crossbase customer survey - are considered very important by our customers and which are implemented quickly and reliably by crossbase.


The crossbase management team is recruited from among the owners and long-time employees and reflects an evolved structure. In addition to the managing director, each of the managers has the authority to represent the company alone. Consequently, the company is organized with a broad base, is fully capable of acting at all times and is ideally equipped for the targeted growth of more than 10% per annum.

Thomas Kern is the Managing Partner and founder, responsible for project management, the smooth transition of projects from sales through analysis to implementation, and employee development. He also drives the strategy, the product and strategic positioning of the company forward – always with the objective of becoming the leading provider.

Albrecht Bosler, mechanical engineering graduate - Owner


Albrecht Bosler is an authorized signatory, the Head of Development and founder. He works with five teams of developers and is responsible for the software development and quality assurance departments. He also advises customers on technical solutions based on individual requirements. His objective, with the help of his development teams, is to combine high-quality software with maximum customer benefit.

Herby Tessadri, master's degree in engineering - Owner


Herby Tessadri is an authorized signatory, the Head of Sales and founder. He is responsible for the sales and internationalization departments. He also manages the office in Wolfurt, Austria. His objective is to acquire new customers by providing needs-based solutions and impressing potential customers with our powerful product and highly qualified consulting services.

Jochen Muffler, business management graduate


Jochen Muffler is an authorized signatory and is responsible for the consulting, support and project management departments. He advises customers during product implementation, in particular during the preparation of content and automation of complex print publications.

Johannes Gonser, business management graduate


Johannes Gonser is an authorized signatory and responsible for the marketing and product management departments and is thus the link between software development and marketing. Furthermore, he is also responsible for the project management of CMS projects.

crossbase currently employs over 40 members of staff at two independent companies in Germany and Austria. Of these, more than 20 members of staff work in development and more than ten work in consulting and support. The Böblingen site is home to development, consulting, marketing and sales. In addition, we also have sales representatives in Koblenz and Berlin, and we have both sales representatives and consultants available in Wolfurt.

Company history

Thomas Kern initiated the development of the software solution in a print and publishing company in 1996. In 2001, the software rights and customer portfolio were taken over by the newly established crossbase mediasolution GmbH as part of a management buyout.

1996: Development of the New Media and Database Publishing division within a print and publishing company.
1998: The first customers automate multi-lingual industrial catalogs using the database and FrameMaker.
1999: Implementation of additional modules for the publication of digital catalogs.
2000: Redevelopment of the print engine with InDesign. Creation of sales partnership with crosscom Neue Medien GmbH in Austria.
2001: Management buyout and establishment of the crossbase mediasolution GmbH in Germany and Austria, together with the sales partner crosscom Neue Medien GmbH.
2002: Publication of Release 3 with integrated image database / MAM and translation management.
2003: crossbase employs 10 members of staff and achieves sales of over € 1 million.

2004: Development of modules for E-commerce, including ERP interface, BMEcat and ecl@ss/ETIM.
2005: Development of a CMS for websites, media services and online catalogs.
2007: crossbase employs 20 members of staff and achieves sales of over € 1.5 million.
2008: Extension to include modules for connection to Office programs, configurators and CAD.
2010: Publication of Release 4. All online modules are integrated into the PIM system and consolidated on the CMS platform.
2011: Newly developed modules including the print server and Excel configurator.
2013: crossbase employs 35 members of staff and achieves sales of over € 2.5 million.
2014: New modules for automated Illustrator production and API server with REST services.
2015: crossbase employs 40 members of staff and achieves sales of over € 3 million.
2016: Redevelopment of the web front end and Office module. Start of internationalization in France.
2017: Newly developed modules including data import with field mapping and output type for the BIM format.



Our fully integrated software solution is developed exclusively at our Böblingen site in Germany. We do not outsource development work. This enables seamless and dynamic communication between the key development, consulting and support units. Close collaboration ensures customer-oriented services and short innovation cycles while simultaneously guaranteeing high-quality and user-friendly software.
