GAEB-Interface to ausschreiben.de at Gebr. KEMPER GmbH Co. KG

KEMPER has been using crossbase as a PIM, MAM and cross-media solution for many years. In addition to this, KEMPER is represented on the online platform ausschreiben.de, which it has maintained manually up until now. In order to automate this sales channel, an additional data interface has been added to the solution. This uses the electronic data exchange format GAEB XML, which is popular in the construction industry.

On the online platform ausschreiben.de manufacturers from all trades of the construction industry can publish tender texts for free download. The portal is a contact point in the building industry for all partners involved, e.g. architects, to obtain planning data in various output formats such as GAEB XML, GAEB 90, PDF, DOC, RTF, text, DATANORM 5 and ÖNORM. Almost all considerable AVA and craftsman programs can process these output formats and/or have an interface to ausschreiben.de.
Automatically generated tender texts
KEMPER uses the platform to distribute invitations to tender and product images. As invitations to tender are highly structured and text components are repeated, text templates are created in the PIM to generate these texts in multiple languages. This not only reduces the amount of manual work required by over 90%, as only the text modules are assigned to the products, it also improves the quality of the texts, as they are structured consistently.
The GAEB interface
Since the structures for XML formats can be configured flexibly, crossbase works with a wide range of formats. This means that every format can be flexibly configured by the user in relation to the content (using XML mapping).
The data for ausschreiben.de is supplied in the standard format GAEB DA XML, for example. The specifications, including image and text data, are therefore exported. More extensive information that cannot be incorporated in the standard GAEB DA XML format (e.g. comments, attachments and links) are transported via a further XML format specific to ausschreiben.de.
